We have an exciting guest on the show today. Monique Samuels is our friend and neighbor, and she stars on The Real Housewives of Potomac. Monique is a mom, wife, television star, and entrepreneur. She runs the Not for Lazy Moms website and the accompanying podcast. Monique and her husband also have a real estate business and a charitable foundation.

Monique is a busy mom who is often under pressure. In this episode, she shares how she keeps her cool under stress, her tips for self-care, and how important it is to prioritize what you do. She also gives us the inside scoop on what it’s like to be on a reality TV show. We have a great conversation, and we love being around Monique and her husband Chris.

  • [01:10] Monique never thought she would be on a reality TV show. Her and her husband are very private. People were shocked when they were on Real Housewives of the Potomac.

  • [01:50] She is married to Chris Samuels a Washington Redskins player for 10 years.

  • [02:13] They met through a business partner and eventually after three years started dating.

  • [03:58] Her kids feel like the cameras have always been there.

  • [04:28] They film for the show for four months. The cameras capture everything.

  • [05:43] They don't know what is going on with the other wives unless they are actually there or someone tells them.

  • [06:21] They also get to know some of the other housewives from the other shows.

  • [07:45] Andy Cohen is amazing.

  • [08:18] Monique's favorite episode was her daughters first birthday episode.

  • [09:08] Not for Lazy Moms is a project that Monique has been working on for several years. She discovered essential oils to help her sons allergies.

  • [11:14] Monique is working on a packet for contributors for her blog with her lawyers.

  • [11:39] She uses raw apple cider vinegar if she feels like she is getting sick. It also helps lower cholesterol and helps with hydration.

  • [12:35] Ginger and garlic are also amazing.

  • [13:11] Monique recently got a water filter system for her home.

  • [13:41] Chris is 6' 6" and weighs 360 pounds.

  • [14:21] Monique encourages Chris to eat healthy as much as possible. He's been retired for eight years now.

  • [15:07] After he retired, he took a break and now works out for his health.

  • [16:26] Chris and Monique have been eating a lot of seafood and vegetables.

  • [19:17] Chris and Monique run a real estate business. They have an amazing new office manager to help with the properties. Chris has a foundation.

  • [19:58] Pulling back and delegating is a good anti-stress step for Monique. She also gets massages.

  • [20:51] She realized that she had to reevaluate what she could do and start telling people no. She goes to the gym and detoxes.

  • [23:00] She focuses on her blog, podcast, and her charitable efforts. She loves to give back.

  • [23:46] Not for Lazy Moms is launching a podcast. Monique likes to sit back and talk. She is trying to balance herself and help other and the podcast will be easier. They are also going to have workshops for moms.
