Bridget Moynahan: I ended up being a little bit more of a tomboy, whether it was because of all that, all the cops and robbers that we played and, you know, having to fight for my rights in in a house full of boys and playing sports, you know, that kind of I think that fed my energy and my personality.
Bridget Moynahan: I had the car. I had the wheels.
Bridget Moynahan: I never really quite liked the name Bridget when I was growing up.
Bridget Moynahan: And the train started moving. I'm like, you have to get off the train, Dad. And it was so like, it was terrifying for him.
Bridget Moynahan: I don't know what possessed them to allow me to do this. And I think I cried the whole way to the city. I was so scared. I had never really, I don't think I had ever left Massachusetts or Connecticut.
Bridget Moynahan: It was a lot of fun. It was challenging. It was completely out of the box. …. And, you know, it really has the circus kind of life mentality.
Bridget Moynahan: I think sports being in that kind of environment helped me with my confidence and my independence and focus. But certainly, you know, a strong family bond kept kept me grounded.
Bridget Moynahan: My poor parents had no idea what country I was in.
Bridget Moynahan: I got into modeling 1990
Bridget Moynahan: I would always say I was the cleanest model in the business because I shampoo, face cleansers, body washes, whatever.
Bridget Moynahan: I started going to every job like I needed that job that I didn't have another source of income. And I did end up going to acting class in New York.
Bridget Moynahan: I got a small independent called In the Weeds and then I got Coyote Ugly and I got Sex in the City. All at the same time.
Bridget Moynahan: I think I'm very lucky that I didn't grow up as a teenager or young adult during this time with social media.
Bridget Moynahan: I always have the analogy of, like, double Dutch and people, you know, the show is so it's already moving and you better be able to jump in and not trip on that rope.
Bridget Moynahan: Living between New York and L.A. and, wherever the movies took you.
Bridget Moynahan: Whether it's a big movie or a small movie, you're always walking away with something.
Bridget Moynahan: I did a show called Six Degrees, which was a great show. Definitely came before its time. We should revamp that for sure.
Bridget Moynahan: I remember thinking. I don't think I want to do a single female lead because it's really demanding.
Bridget Moynahan: It has been such a gift to be in one place, have stability for my son and flexibility.
Bridget Moynahan: I helped produce a short that got accepted to the Beverly Hills Film Festival.
Bridget Moynahan: Getting caught up in drama, it’s just like exhausting and time consuming.
Bridget Moynahan: It's awful what they do to any any pregnant woman who happens to be in the limelight.
Bridget Moynahan: I really embraced the mask, the coronavirus mask.
Bridget Moynahan: My son's father is in the picture, which is fantastic. Like a lot of people don't have that right. So single mom is a very broad term.
Bridget Moynahan: Because I'm a firm believer in a lot of napping.
Bridget Moynahan: In my younger age, it was soccer, basketball, lacrosse, tennis, you know, all that. A lot of roller skating, fun, you know, whatever, throw throw a sport at me and I would have done it. Pickleball now.
Bridget Moynahan: I grew up Catholic. I have had a back and forth love hate relationship with the church for obvious reasons, and then just personal reasons. I found an incredible church when I was living in California that I loved going to and I miss because I cannot find a church like that in New York.
Bridget Moynahan: I had broken my foot and had a major surgery on my foot, so I can't fit into any of my old shoes.
Bridget Moynahan: That's one of the things that I feel like social media is great is about, is that you can really get inspired from people all over the world.
Bridget Moynahan: I think that that's the one of the wonderful lessons I've learned over the last couple of years is like if you meet somebody special and who makes you laugh and just inspires you, like latch on to that person and like be open to them coming in and be open to sharing yourself.
Bridget Moynahan: I'm able to recognize that there is value in those experiences, even if it's not the monetary or the, you know, the film success of it.
