On this episode, we are so grateful to be joined by Adriana Carrig. She is the Founder & CEO of the Little Words Project, a company that spreads love, acceptance, and kindness one bracelet at a time. What started in college turned into a full business after graduating from the College of New Jersey, and now the Little Words Project bracelets can be found worldwide. On Health Gig, Adriana talks about how she got started, her desire to make the world a better place, and the importance of women working together in our communities.

Show Notes
[3:31] We as women have the tendency to put one another down rather than lift one another up.
[3:36] I really wanted to kind of create something that would inspire kindness and kind of be a vehicle right on your wrist to lift one another up rather than put them down.
[5:25] Little Words Project is all about inspiring kindness amongst women.
[6:18] Oftentimes the act of giving the bracelet is better than the act of receiving one.
[8:21] When we read those stories, it really just lights us up and helps us understand why we're doing what we're doing.
[10:54] I told them, wear them and then as a sister needs one, pass it on to her. If someone has a big test, give her luck. If someone just had to break up, give her love.
[12:01] When women support women, you can make a huge difference.
[14:14] When people have asked me how did I do this or what do you think is the reason that you got to where you got or any of those types of questions, I always say it's because I believed in myself.
[16:15] People who do have some sort of hormone issue or sperm count issue, whatever it might be, that doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. It just means that that's kind of where you're at at this point in your journey.
[20:35] I remember when I was told that I should take it, I had like the biggest panic attack I'd ever had. I had like the worst nervous breakdown I've ever had because I just felt like I didn't want to be a person who needed medication, right? "Needed medication" or whatever that means. Looking back now, I'm like, oh, my God, that was the anxiety speaking.
[23:48] It's so normal. And we often feel like it's not. And there's no shame in taking care of your mental health and admitting that you have a problem and taking care of it.
[25:36] Even if you think something is perfect, there's always more behind the scenes and people need to remember that. And people need to give each other grace too.
[26:33] It doesn't cost anything to dream.
[26:48] It might not be the ultimate goal that you wanted, but if you're attempting it, you can sometimes, you know, land somewhere in between that's better off than where you started.
[27:54] We just have to trust that at some point everything is going to make a little bit more sense.
[30:14] People are really kind when you give them the chance to be.

“Oftentimes, the act of giving the bracelet is better than the act of receiving one. It builds that self-esteem and that helps build confidence and that helps build kindness. And it's just this self-fulfilling circle of making one another kinder to one another.” - Adriana Carrig
