Show Notes
[2:24] For me, it's always been about passion.
[4:06] Obviously, there's criminals and we have to follow the law and not break the law. But when you look at it from the human side, for some people, they don't have the education, they don't have the family support, they don't have the right structure in their lives and only know a certain way.
[4:54] It's really all about learning, connecting with people. Just learning about people because you never know what their story is, how it became that way, and what you can do with it.
[5:54] I had this great job on paper. I was a senior level producer at age 26, but because I sort of became that level, it took me out of what I really loved, which was meeting people and sharing stories.
[6:52] Anything is possible with hard work, passion and dedication.
[7:07] And then I realized, wait, if I'm going to work for a magician and be his producer and produce his television shows and produce his events, he can't hear no from me. He needs me to figure out a way to make things happen for him.
[8:21] I just really take in every experience and try to learn from different people.
[9:39] And we really wanted something that was in the vein of what we know and love and have worked so hard doing, but really in a way that we could do it while being fully available for our children.
[11:52] A lot of moms in our community and across the country are also entrepreneurs and business owners, and we've really wanted to try to help them all grow their businesses.
[12:12] We really feel like there's such a connection between moms and moms who want to support each other.
[19:31] And I'm excited to live every day and to live with my boys and to be able to take adventures and try new things, although I do believe my cancer journey did prepare me for this pandemic.
[20:35] You know your body, and if something is different, you have to check it out because early detection is everything. It saved my life. I had a very aggressive kind of cancer. Even though it was an early diagnosis, it was aggressive. So if I had ignored it, the end result would have been very different.
[21:21] I just think that a positive outlook and taking care of yourself is the best way to live.
[24:58] I said, "No, this is not about money. This is about making sure this doesn't happen to anybody else again", right? They wound up right away retraining everybody on what to do if a person is sick while they're traveling. And I shot a public service announcement with them. It was probably one of the greatest things I've ever done, because for me in my journey, the reason why I share is you hope that you can help somebody else. And what I found is that by sharing, I was also being helped because people from across the country were reaching out to me and sharing their stories.
[26:54] I'm going to write about this. I find that's how you connect with people.
[27:38] I think the bolt was like a reminder of, like, slowing down your thought process. Don't respond right away. Take it in. And I really believe that.
