Evaluating and Prioritizing your Goals
The dog days of summer are coming to a close. Back to school for kids and back to the office for some means it might be time to dial in our routine to achieve our well-being goals.
If you are finding that you are barely fitting in the essential building blocks of well-being into your days, then it might be time to reevaluate and make a change.
At BB&R, we strive to cultivate our community members’ holistic well-being. In that spirit, we have tips and resources to help you reevaluate your daily routine and take steps towards making lasting changes.
Step 1: Ask yourself…
-Do I have a routine? What are my non-negotiables that I must get done day-to-day?
-What are my goals? Nutrition goals, mental and fitness goals, relationship goals?
-What is getting in my way of achieving my goals?
Step 2: Pick a top priority goal.
-Out of the goals I have, what is the single most important one at this time?
Step 3: Pick one behavior that will help you achieve this goal.
-Make this a realistic change that you can sustain
-Examples: wake up one hour earlier to create time for this priority; habit stack - take an existing habit and layer this priority at the same time; find an accountability partner
Step 4: Crush the goal!!!
-Give yourself grace as you integrate this new behavior into your daily routine. Be mindful as you make the change of what is working and what is not working very well. Adjust accordingly.
